oh, the Places you’ll go!

Oh the places you'll go quilt

This is a sample I made for the Quilting Bee…I really enjoyed working with this color palatte and building new blocks. I haven’t sewn anything ‘wonky’ yet and this was a really good introduction into throwing caution to the wind and cutting something up without measuring!
Oh the places you'll go quilt
This picture looks wonky, but is in fact square 🙂
There were some blocks with quotes from the Dr. Seuss book, ‘oh, the Places you’ll go!’

These stair blocks were really fun to build, and out of all the fabrics used in this quilt, that rainbow looking print was my favorite.

What a colorful quilt!

Here is the next block in the Fat Quarter Shop QAL! This one turned out so cute, I love it! It did seem to take me forever to finish, definitely the smallest piecing I’ve done, especially compared to the large scale Heartthrob top I’ve been working on. But well worth it because these ornaments turned out adorably 🙂 I’m excited to get going on the next couple blocks of this quilt, now that the smallest blocks are out of the way.

Green Tea

This is a sample I made for the Quilting Bee quilt shop, it is called Green Tea made with Tonga Treat batiks by Timeless Treasures. I have never sewn a curved seam before and there ended up being 80 in total, so I had a lot of practice by the end of it. Quilting Bee samples are not my style or what I would choose to sew for fun or have in my home, however I can appreciate their attractiveness to others! I really liked how this came together and I enjoyed the improv fabric choosing to achieve the light to dark and dark to light look.
